How to check your tire tread…
With the nice weather just around the corner it’s almost time to pack up your car, truck, or SUV and head out on a road trip. BUT, before you do you will want to make sure that you’re not driving around on bald tires. The last thing you want is a Car Accident in Los Angeles.
So here’s a really useful and fast way to check your tires:
- Take a penny and pinch Abe’s body between your first finger and thumb.
- Select a point on your tire where tread appears the most worn and insert Lincoln’s head into one of the grooves on the tread.
- If any part of Abe Lincoln’s head is obscured by the tread, you’re driving with the legal and safe amount of tread. If you can see above his head, where it says “In God We Trust,” you need to head to the tire shop and buy new tires.
