I have horrible back pain from my breasts, what can I do?

September 21st, 2009 | by admin |

I have sized 32DD, and my back just kills all the time.
I’m fifteen and I’m only 4′9 and 102 lbs, which is not a very good frame to be carrying these things around on. I’ve obviously not had my breasts as long as most older women who complain about back pain, but it’s nearly unbearable, I can’t even sit for long periods of time because it feels better to lay on my back.
I’ve considered breast reduction surgery, but cosmetic surgery can be expensive and I would have to get my mothers consent (which she wouldn’t give me because she thinks I have just the perfect little figure) and my boyfriend doesn’t want me to because he says it’s like slapping god in the face, that of course wouldn’t stop me in the long run if I really needed to get it, but I really would like to know if there are things I can to to relive some of the stress that’s caused to my back other then surgery.

Oh I would also like to add that I’m not going to grow into them so please don’t try to tell me that, my doctor has said I’ve stopped growing and there isn’t a women in my family that’s over 5′2

If you have medical insurance, just make an appointment to see your doctor. I’m not sure exactly what can be done, but certainly some combination of chiropractic and physical therapy would help a lot. The stronger you make your back muscles, the less pain you should have to deal with. BUT, you need to consult a professional because of your unique circumstance, you could do more harm than good if you exercise improperly (putting more stress on your already stressed back).

Yes, you can get reduction surgery and it’s on the Health Channel all the time. It isn’t cheap though, the ones they show are in the neighborhood of $12,000.00 My wife has big ones and complains a lot. I’m not a boob man and understand what she’s saying but, we’re in our seventies now.

I had the same problem when I was growing up. I developed very early and my breasts were much to big for my body. I believe under some health plans that breast reduction for medical reasons can be done for free(at least in Canada). one thing that I found helped is getting a good support bra so that the weight is distributed..this means paying more than you would at a walmart or something simular but well worth it in the end!

firstly your boyfriend isn’t thinking of you, he is thinking of himself and your boobs. do whatever you possibly can to make your back pain go away. if it comes down to reduction surgery then tell your mum that you are truly unhappy and in pain most of the time and you really need it.

I’m 5ft and have the same problem. you need breast reduction, in the mean time go to a chiropractor & a dr (dr to document history so your insurance will cover it as preventative care.) and a chiropractor because I had/have the same problem get your spine including cervical spine looked at and your ribs as well. People often underestimate the effect this can have on you both now and long term. I’m 27 and have severe back neck and rib problems because of this. I put off the surgery when I was a teen then in my early twenties again. Just get it over with and you’ll feel better. Plus you get perky boobs. It’s covered by most insurances and they end up looking better in the end. Other than surgury and a good chiro, get a good bra, but it won’t help in the long term. You never said how old you are but in some states once you reach a certain age your medical care is your choice, you can also file a form to overide parental consent if a dr and a surgeon and in some states a psychiatrist believe it is medically needed, less you come to harm between now and when you are old enough to decide legally. Ask your Md for assistance. Good Luck

Wow. That’s REALLY mean of your mom and boyfriend to disregard how YOU feel about YOUR body. Jeeeze.
I’m 4′11" and a 30D which is actually similar to a 32C (so not very big)…but I come from a family of really big boobs and a lot of members of my family have had breast reduction surgery. I don’t think it is a "slap in the face to god" but rather a slap in the face to you from your boyfriend. I think they have support bras out there which can help you out!
There is a site I like (since my size doesn’t exist in stores) called Figleaves.com and they have like every size out there and stuff aimed at different sizes. Give it a try and in the meantime you should find a better boyfriend and really let your mom know how you feel.

Good luck!!! ps: my mom told me my grandma (I never met her cuz she died D:)had to wear a giant bra that took up half her back just so she could support the weight. I think you should get some sand bags and place them on your mother and boyfriend’s chest for a day and see how they feel!!!! >:(

I’m suprised that DDs give you such a hard time. I’m a natural 30F and unless I don’t wear a bra for a longish period they’re fine. But then you are really petite.
In the next couple of years you might grow a couple of inches, which would help matters.
But I’m sure you could be wearing a more supportive bra, check this fitting advice to see if you are wearing the right size (32DD is pretty common)
    http://www.figleaves.com/us/fitting_room.asp?cat=187&txt=5673

    when I was 15 I wore a 34D and got refitted as a 30F – sooo mcuh better.
