Well it already pays for crack whores to have kids. So why not pay for abortions so those crack heads can STOP having kids and polluting the earth.

I don’t know what kind of awesome insurance you have that pays for cosmetic surgery and sex change operations, but tell me where to get it! I have never, ever heard of regular health insurance that pays for these things, and I challenge you to find one that does and post a link. Further, there will be no specialized policies to pay for this stuff, because the only reason people would ever buy it would be because they were already planning on having the surgery. People don’t buy insurance to have this done, they save their pennies and pay for it out of pocket. No form of government insurance would prevent a person from continuing to do that.

You are probably right about the abortions. I think most plans do pay for abortions, probably because it’s a lot cheaper to pay for abortions than it is to pay for a baby. No government plan would cover them because it’s too controversial. People will just have to save up the 500 bucks themselves, or find a charity that will do it for free.

If the government did take over the health insurance industry, we know the plan wouldn’t pay for cosmetic surgery, etc. Nobody is raiding medicare to pay for this stuff. Ever.

Please don’t take this as support for a government plan, because it absolutely isn’t. I just think your assumptions about raiding medicare to pay for stuff that will never be covered by the government, in lieu of insurance which doesn’t exist now, are flawed. If you want to be afraid of government-run health care, be afraid for the right reasons.

That would just make me despise the Democrats more than i already do. Meicare AND Medicaid (though you didn’t mention that, i’m still just putting it in here) are ESSENTIAL to our seniors (or the disabled) who depend on it to maintain a life…a living. By dipping into Medicare and taking away Social Security; or SSI, i can hardly imagine the catastrophic consequences that would result. i do see what you might be getting at there, but i say no way to that idea…

..Hah, but quite frankly, with the way these guys are so pathetically, and desperately trying to edit the health care bill right now, i wouldn’t be surprised if someone was like "hey! Let’s take Medicare and Medicaid away from the seniors (or disabled) and use it to fund medical procedures not covered in the proposed health care bill!"

i think worse. All of these procedures are elective and the patient won't die if they don't get them done. We have better things to worry about than someone else's nose job

Who cares if some seniors starve or die, because Medicare cannot afford their cancer treatment. What matters is that if you were born a woman in a man's body, you can be true to yourself.

If the government really wants to fix out health care, they need to fix Medicaid and Medicare to make them worth a damn, not take away private insurances that actually pay. They need to make things flat rates, and not let any insurance company decide how much percentages they are going to pay. So in answer to your question, no, it will not make it better. All they are doing is throwing more crap on an already useless system and one size does not and cannot fit all!
