The Silent Killer
February 7th, 2010 | by admin |They call carbon monoxide the silent killer. It’s odorless and tasteless, which means if it is present, you would never know it. If you are caught in a room with it for too long, you will start to feel tired, eventually pass out, and then die. In homes it is often generated by the heat source in the home. Any burning fuel can do it. In winter, if the exhaust pipe gets covered with say, snow, the gas will back up into the house causing a hazard. There is no way to know that it is in the house unless you have one of those carbon monoxide alarms installed to alert you. There is really no option. This is something every home needs asap.
